Flexibility is the name of the game when it comes to international NGO work. We had originally planned to have two teams travel to Uganda but four team members have had to pull out due to changing life circumstances. As such, we have decided to take one team instead of two this year. The new travel dates will be from July 7th to 23rd. More details to follow via email for team members.
We would also like to (kinda) apologize for scheduling our first team meeting on the day of the 2010 Olympic Gold Medal Men's Hockey game. Originally we scheduled it for Super Bowl Sunday but changed it due to outcries of disbelief and sadness. This current date is set in stone, though... but we do have WiFi and so will be able to keep you posted on the scores (if that's an issue for you!)
Okay, big exciting news! The teams have been selected and notified! Congratulations and thank you to the following 2010 team members: Rhonda, Emily and Dylan D; Joy and Malcolm H; Tanja K; Barb R; alumnus Linda K (welcome back!!); and team leaders Danielle, Erika and Karine.
We are in the process of finalizing the meeting dates and should post them here soon. There will be a meet and greet for all selected team members on Sunday, February 21st from 3-4:30 p.m. It was originally scheduled for February 7th but apparently there's some big sports event on television that day… More info to follow (keep checking your inboxes).
